Vitamin D Deficiency

Filter
Vitamin D deficiency is common; 35% in US are deficient with 94% not meeting daily requirements from food alone. Deficiency can be caused by not enough in diet, not enough sunlight, or other medical conditions. Vitamin D is key to many processes in the
body, but common symptoms of deficiency include fatigue, brain fog, anxiety or depression, bone and joint pain, brittle nails, frequent illness and slow wound healing. Severe vitamin D deficiency with a 25(OH)D concentration below <30 nmol/L (or 12 ng/ml) dramatically increases the risk of excess mortality, infections, and many other diseases.
